Copyright Resources for Faculty & Students_UPDATED: Library Owned Materials

Create Persistent Links to DIU Library's Digital Materials

Using Permalinks

Many of the library's digital resources contain a 'permalink' feature.  These permalinks, or persistent links as they are also called, create a digital pathway back to the needed resource.  The video below explains why a permalink is preferable to copying the session URL.  Although the exact location of the permalink may differ slightly between databases, it can generally be found by looking for the paperclip icon.

Permalinks are available in most e-resources, via an icon resembling a sideways paperclip.  It is often located in the 'tools' menu.

Can I Scan This For My Students?

As with most things copyright-related, the answer is "it depends".  Please contact the library at library @diu.edu with questions regarding digital use of the library's print materials within your Canvas course.
