Getting Academic Support

Building solid student-professor relationships through effective communication can serve as the foundation for academic success. This tutorial discusses how to determine when you need support, how to be more invested in your courses, preparing for the discussion, and how to approach professors for special projects, future recommendation letters, or internship opportunities beyond the classroom. To locate the tutorial, open the College Success Skills center, then expand the section entitled Getting Academic Support.

Classroom Success Skills

Tutorials are available on memorization, note-taking strategies, effective listening in the classroom, reading strategies for classroom success, and strategies for success in online classes. From the College Success Skills center, expand the Classroom Success Skills section to locate the tutorials.

Personal Success Skills

Achieving overall personal success includes building a solid knowledge base regarding personal finance, such as effective money management, understanding personal credit scores, insurance, and taxes as well as developing healthy habits for stress management and general wellness.  Tutorials on these topics are located in the College Success Skills center. Once in the center, expand the Personal Success Skills section.

Organizational Strategies

Learn strategies to effectively manage your time, how to set and achieve goals, getting organized, and effectively multi-task. From the College Success Skills center, expand the section named Organizational Strategies to select a strategy.
